A chronicle of BTS in 2020 by ARMY
A project brought to you by Bulletproof, an imprint of Revolutionaries.
BTS and ARMY have a revolutionary relationship which has only strengthened throughout the trials and tribulations of 2020. In order to celebrate BTS, their successes and give our love, we are launching an annual fan project called BTS in our words. No one knows BTS quite like ARMY, as such, no one is in such an advantageous position to share the message and joy of the septet with the world. We are calling for contributions to an anthology about each member of BTS in 2020, as well as an open call to all ARMY to submit to a digital archive any creative piece in response to the prompt: Who were BTS in 2020 to you?
Who are we and what exactly is going on?
BTS in our words is a collaborative project between Revolutionaries, our imprint Bulletproof, our brand new ARMY Archive and all of ARMY to create a yearly chronicle of BTS in book and archival form on released for the group’s birthday on June 13.
There are three unique gifts that will be made from this project:
A paperback book that profiles each member of BTS in the context of 2020 by a member of ARMY
A digital archive of creative works from ARMY made in response to the prompt: Who were BTS in 2020 to you?
A limited edition hardback book of selected artworks, stories, poems and images submitted to the archive
Each of these will be created for BTS yearly, starting on their eighth birthday on June 13, 2021. Further to this, the archive will be publicly available for all to enjoy, and both versions of the book will be distributed and sold globally.
Every ARMY is invited to participate in this project and can do so by engaging with our ARMY Archive to complete surveys and submit creations, answering our calls for submissions to the book, and by supporting us through social media.
The book project
BTS in our words is a special book project slated for release on June 13, 2021 that profiles each member in the words of an ARMY during the year of 2020. BTS in our words will be an anthology series released on the birthday of BTS each year, where ARMY are invited to submit chapter proposals for which member they’d like to profile in the context of the year that has just passed.
The aim of the book is threefold:
To tell the story of BTS from the perspective of ARMY, thus giving a platform for fandom voices
To provide the fandom and the general public with a book that chronicles elements of BTS in ways which are unique, educational and add to a positive, dynamic discourse
To give BTS a thoughtful gift from ARMY on their birthday.

The archive project
ARMY Archives is a special project to locate, document and archive the lived-experience of the ARMY fandom, brought to you by Bulletproof, an imprint of Revolutionaries. ARMY Archives aims to achieve a chronicle of ARMY from present day onwards, as well as conduct specific mini-projects to collect memories, data and stories spanning from BTS’ debut until 2021.
The ARMY Archive is calling for responses to the prompt: Who were BTS in 2020 to you?
These responses can be any of the following: artwork, letters, essays, poetry, prose, videos, photos — anything that can be uploaded and displayed digitally. All submissions that meet our guidelines will be published. Further to this, pieces from the archive will be selected and published in a limited edition hardback book created for BTS on their birthday. To learn more and submit to the archive, please go here.
